WATCH: Tiger Woods takes 3 steps and starts swinging golf club

Tiger Woods has been working on his swing after a year of inactivity. In the video, he’s standing on the green and then is a golfer about to start swinging. Woods is then heard saying, “Now, it’s time to take the stance” and then takes three steps before he swings. Woods stares at the ground, looks over his shoulder at a player ahead of him and then takes the three steps up the fairway.

Tiger Woods has posted a video on Instagram showing him practicing driving a golf club. The 41-year-old former world No. 1 has not played competitive golf since the 2017 Wyndham Championship.

Tiger Woods had a fourth back surgery last year that placed his ability to play again in doubt. But he said in an interview with the Associated Press in July that his rehabilitation on the injured discs was going well and he had been working with club manufacturers to design a high-technology driver.

But Woods said at the time he had no desire to schedule his return to the course until he was ready.

An expert in biomechanics, Woods said his back injury did not affect the way he swung his club.

“It just doesn’t really cause me to back up,” he said. “I always have a good swing anyway.”

With a career won-loss record of 14-62, Woods won 78 times on the PGA Tour, five times on the European Tour and once on the Asian Tour.

Woods also is a 14-time major champion, winning the U.S. Open four times and the British Open twice.
