Established in 1997, CNN en Español, Spanish to English, has come to reflect the latest demographic shifts in the US. It is the leading source of Spanish-language television news in the US and reaches 42 million households. CNN en Español broadcast its first story from Beirut, Lebanon, in 1999. They were awarded a CableACE in 2000. They host a one-hour nightly news magazine show, which launched in 2002; exclusive hourly news updates in the mornings and newscasts at the end of the day on weekdays; a one-hour magazine show in the evenings; and a series of original documentary films, the last three of which are still in cinemas.
