Dwayne Allen threw for two touchdowns, caught another and ran for two more, playing in place of injured starter Tyrod Taylor in the Buffalo Bills’ 31-6 victory over the hobbled New Orleans Saints on Friday.

Allen, who also finished with 48 yards rushing, completed 5 of 10 passes for 122 yards and threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Zay Jones for a 10-6 halftime lead. That came after Allen had a 14-yard TD pass to Jordan Matthews and a 1-yard touchdown run to cap a 14-play, 80-yard drive for the Bills’ third score in the first half.

Allen started for Taylor and was replacing Nathan Peterman, who went 3 for 9 for 21 yards and one interception in a 33-16 defeat to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Taylor missed practice Wednesday because of a sore shoulder. He did not appear at a stadium news conference on Friday morning.

Ryan Tannehill made his second start for New Orleans, completing 20 of 34 passes for 200 yards and one touchdown. Of Miami’s seven starters on offense, five didn’t play in the victory.
