Marco Pierre White marries Michael Symon

Star chefs Marco Pierre White and Michael Symon were married on Thanksgiving at Sikirano Wood Wood Country Club, two miles from where he was born. (Star chefs have been celebrating Thanksgiving over the years as well, though every Thanksgiving has had its own history.) White received a post-wedding hero’s welcome from the Festival of Lights in Georgetown at a pre-dinner party, though the restaurant he now owns, Maria’s Via Roma, was still remodeling its dining room.

Owner Danny Wexler was one of three judges at a table outside the restaurant with Vince and Holly Wexler, Jill and Ben Saperstein, and Symon and his fellow judges, which included celebrity chef Keri Smith (NoMa) and Sotheby’s owner Guy Savoy (Lola). (Smith was also working as a bridesmaid.) White and Symon also discussed their past and worked to develop a menu based on their love for Italian cooking, family and friends. Symon told guests at the reception at the Farmhouse Restaurant to never give up on their dreams.
