Jessie J Found Out She Was Pregnant Shortly After Engaging in a Rift With Her Husband

Jessie J found out she was pregnant shortly after announcing she was splitting from her husband but tragically suffered a miscarriage four weeks later, the singer revealed to HuffPost Live.

“The reaction was just like, ‘What?’,” Jessie J said of the media’s reaction to her pregnancy.

The 30-year-old singer-songwriter and her musician husband, Thomas Starr, married in 2010 but announced their split in November, and before the split, Jess Jess Lee started planning to have a baby with the help of a surrogate mom.

“I was seven weeks along, and it was the hardest decision of my life,” Jessie J told HuffPost Live’s Ricky Camilleri. “I just wanted to do this, and then all of a sudden I wasn’t pregnant anymore.”

The “Bang Bang” singer said she still had to continue with the New Year’s Eve plans she planned with Starr as a surprise for her sister, whom she had recently been dating.

“I was at my house in Manchester, [England], and there was a knock on the door, and it was my sister, and she was like, ‘Are you okay?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah. Are you all right?’ And she said, ‘Your ex just dropped you off!’”

“And I was like, ‘OK, great, like how did you do that?’ and she said, ‘Oh, my ex dropped me off at your house. And then I’m like, ‘Dude, you did that?!’”

“So I’m like, ‘I’m like, alright,’ and I looked out and he had a ring on the finger,” Jessie J said. “It was one of the two rings we were going to get on New Year’s Eve — the birthday. And I was like, ‘Well it’s still New Year’s Eve, we’ll still do that, right?’ And he was like, ‘No, no, no, no. I was really pregnant.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my god, this doesn’t make sense, I’m like, how is this happening, how is this happening?’ and he was like, ‘Yeah, no.’ And I was like, ‘OK, cool, good, go back to work.’”

“And then I woke up the next morning, and it had all changed again. So, it’s just an unfortunate situation,” Jessie J said.

There’s a different version of events at play here, but either way, the singer isn’t sure how this situation will end.

“I haven’t made a final decision about what I’m going to do, or what my plans are, to be honest,” Jessie J said. “I’m still in shock, like a lot of people, that I found out that I was pregnant. It was just such a shock. It was such a shock. I couldn’t believe it.”

Jessie J has been relatively quiet since the split, but she did record the song “Not Over You” with Jenf Rude from Britney Spears’ “Slumber Party Tour.” The starlet also confirmed to HuffPost Live that she’s currently seeing someone new.
